I hope someone with Apple TV experience can jump in here. I don't know the product at all.

The key with any of these devices is the setup. Once they are set properly, they should work relatively easily.

For most teenagers and 20-somethings, they can breeze through this stuff in minutes. Is there someone near by that you can trust to assist your situation?

My guess is that it would be better to buy the Roku III vs the II. I don't know the II, I own the III. I can't imagine there's much difference but I've never looked into the older model.
