Marc Andreessen: the ‘90s Had It Right (Full Video) The dot-com crash was catastrophic for tech, but the ideas weren’t, famed venture capitalist Marc Andreessen said. They were just early. Andreessen was on stage recently at the WSJD Live global technology conference to talk about transformational technologies of the past, present and future. He said many of the ideas of the ‘90s that are associated with failure—think pet-food delivery—are thriving today. In 20 years, everyone on the planet will have a smartphone and access to high-speed Internet. Globalization and technology is the story of our time, and it’s “an incredibly powerful feedback loop,” he said. Tech will give people tools to learn, which will give people access to more tech.
