The greatest thinkers in Islam early are devoted to Greek thought, they preserve most of it for Eurpoe , then Islam takes the big dive into 1000yrs decline after they get censured.
Same time Eurpope inherits that classical literature & expands, the rennaissance,literature, art & sciences & humanism bloom! Its even referred to as a "flowering" , dimmy.
Fundmementalist today just like yesterday & 1000yrs ago, or 2000yrs ago in Jerusalem, take your pick,
same zealouts, same psychology.
