Interesting statistics on the polls. Thanks.

Perhaps we should start a poll where respondents are given the option to rate the polls as:

1) Meaningful
2) Boring
3) Critical
4) Worthless

re: "top priority" editor

Give it a rest, will ya?

Sheesh ... they give you all those fancy new features (like logos and time stamps) and you STILL complain about the editor.

They are WAY too busy to work on "top priority" tasks.

It sounds to me like they are even too busy to get organized.

I'm curious. If they know the system bogs down at a particular time, why don't they figure out a way to mitigate the performance degradation during that period of time. How about this ... the "log file backup" that is [allegedly] causing the performance hit could be processed more frequently. Processing it more frequently would mean there would be fewer log records to process, thus a smaller performance hit for a shorter period of time. An intermittent glitch every 5 or 10 minutes would be less noticeable than the "wait 3 minutes for a response" during the time they currently run it. And, they could run the backup in a lower priority background task that only gets a slice of CPU time when the system is idle. But, I guess it's easier to just let the existing problem fester, so they can justify new hardware. Who cares whether those darned pesky users complain, anyway?

Again, that description is over-simplified, but the point is ... don't just sit there ... DO SOMETHING !!

THEN you can work on the "top priority" editor so 1Coffeehound will quit complaining. ;-))

Grub -- a double-zero post #1300.

Sure is a pretty day.
