THose are different statistics -- that 41% comment is being applied to the labor participate rate. The former stat which I referred to is the % of households in which nobody has a job (e.g. retirees + unemployed). Note that for the latter, the BLS page I just took a look at disputes what ZH asserts as well: Labor Force Statistics from the Current Population Survey Series Id: LNS11300000 Seasonally Adjusted Series title: (Seas) Labor Force Participation Rate Labor force status: Civilian labor force participation rate Type of data: Percent or rate Age: 16 years and over Labor Particpation Rate Could be this page is wrong, but that has always been my understanding, so I think it is correct.
