Hey, everyone, I thought I had food poisoning, until last night when my daughter, who hadn't eaten anything with me recently, got sick also, and I realized for sure it was a very nasty stomach flu this morning when I called her school, because it is going around there also. Unfortunately it is one of those more modern and tortuous versions that comes and goes, something I sure don't remember from childhood, and I am still feeling very weak and am staying in bed. Just when you think you are over it, though, you are not! Very weird!

I know I have some posts and emails to read and answer, but just don't have the energy, so I at least wanted you all to know that I am thinking about you having fun and being well here while I toss and turn in nauseated turmoil, and I will be back soon. I got up to take a shower and felt excited about turning on the computer, even though there is not a real thought in my head at the moment!!!

I am surely demented, since I notice that even when I am ill, I feel like writing. I wonder if I will feel this way on my deathbed? It is kind of a funny feeling, like I am wondering whether I am living my own life vicariously by distancing myself from it and observing myself instead. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Anyway, when my daughter started throwing up last night, my husband was at the end of his rope with her because she has missed so much school because of visiting high schools, and she has a major paper due on Friday, as well. She was green and heaving, but he was running around saying, Throw up! Go to school! Throw up! Go to school! ad nauseum, and also saying she just couldn't handle stress very well. She just kept throwing up and turning greener.

So while he was gone today, we were both miserable but just enough this side of the dead to imagine that if he gets the same horrible bug, truly gross in all the ways the stomach flu can be, with shivering and shaking and running to the bathroom, not sure which end is in more immediate need of a toilet, we will just remind him, Throw up! Go to work! Take the trash out first! . . . over and over again like the mantra he was chanting to us.

I'll see you guys later!!!
