You're exactly right. I recall a story this past summer where a light-skinned Black girl was beaten senseless by a dark-skinned Black girl for studying and acting White [1]. That is actually a common story in the Black community. If a Black doesn't join a gang, murder someone and serve time in prison, many Blacks consider the person a race-traitor and sell-out. It's considered a rite of passage within their community to murder someone and go to prison, and it supposedly proves "toughness" and defiance of Whites.
