You won't be affected at all. CBS will still be carried on cable as part of a package.

Streaming of the major networks is probably the least attractive of possible streaming options. I could only see people subscribing to them under special circumstances, like...

You can't live without Amy Farrah Fowler, and you live too far away to use an antenna on your TV, and you don't have any use for for the other channels you get with a basic cable TV subscription. So you dump the $30/month basic TV service, pay $6/month for CBS streaming, and maybe get HBO streaming for $15/month too since you're saving money on basic service.

You're also now getting CBS in HD instead of low def too. And, it is kind of cool that you can go back and watch all The Brady Bunch episodes when you're home sick with the flu. Jan's almost as good as Amy Farrah Fowler, no?

Once more networks start streaming, people will have to start deciding what networks they really want. If you watch a lot of different programs, then a la carte streaming probably wouldn't be cost-effective.
