Thank You Arthur, - It's Tuesday, so here is the latest Johnson Redbook Survey of retail sales figures. It appears the retailling establishment has a ways to go in order to reach my predicted 10% year-over-year holiday sales increases, although I'm banking on AMES'comparison numbers to be much better than the survey averages. The Johnson Redbook Excerpt (http://lp-llc.com/cents/redbook.shtml)
The Redbook Total-Store Average in the second week of retail December increased to 5.4% from 5.1%, and the month-to-month gain against November rose to 1.7% from 1.5%. As before, this relatively large monthly growth is mainly a reflection of December's sharply higher sales base. In annual growth, December's average year-over-year rate to date, at 5.2%, remains well below November's 6.5% average, and also well below our retailer sample's target for the month.
