Dear Moonray, In Wall Street lingo a hold is the same as a sell, don't buy it, get rid of it. Most smart brokerages will never lower a stock to a sell because they will piss off the company and have no further shot at investment banking business from that company in the future.

A hold in Wall Street lingo is market performer.
