Patrick,

I am as puzzled as you are about M2. I think something must begoing on between NSM and IBM. The mix of chips we are getting is horrible. It seems the sweet spot is still between 150 to 166 MHz. The same or only slightly better than end of May when M2 was introduced.

We were supposed to get plentiful supply of 188 MHz parts (in millions, later revised to million for the rest of caledar 97).

It seems the most we will get is 600K M2s for 1997, with 188 MHz parts still rare.

Parts made under IBM .27 process are not materializing.

My guess is that NSM will continue with symbolic presence of M2 with part made under .35u process until South Portland can make them under .25u process is ready (Q2 1998).
