I think that previous posts have pointed out that institutions are likely to dump the stock before the end of the quarter(if you read the recent articles on fund behavior, unexpected downside financial results is the #1 cause for funds to sell out). In addition, tax loss selling is likely to take place with little short covering(why pay the tax this year, they'll cover in January). I'm no great seer when it comes to predicting short term movements, but, generally a big drop like this is followed by more bad news and more, albeit, slower price erosions.

Broken stocks generally stay broken until there is some sort of good news.
