If Obama wanted a neocon to head DoD, Lieberman would have been a good choice. Except just about everybody who ever actually supported Obama would have thrown up. On the other hand, if the job had actually been offered and accepted, Lieberman would probably have been replaced by an actual Democrat in the Senate, and the ACA might have been a better bill.

If you want to torture yourself, you can view the interview at conversationswithbillkristol.org . 20 seconds of smug Kristol was about all I could take. There's supposed to be a transcript, which would be less nauseating, except it seems to cut off after the first section.

Leaving policy matters aside, what might give you any impression that Lieberman might have any propensity for running the Pentagon in the first place? Administrative skills seem to have been Hagel's downfall. There's no indication that Lieberman has any such skills either. He does seem to have some skills sucking up to Republicans, though.
