I've been without a pure spec play since CEN was bought out and I have to admit, I miss those outsized gains on what was a pretty solid pure spec play -- CEN was the only reason I even bothered to check my PFs many days and the rest is on auto pilot... as you and many others said from the beginning, SDRL was a spec play and not a long term DGI position... for me, it was a hybrid... I did some trading around what I considered a core DGI position (I mean, it did pay a nice divvy), but kept that core small relative to all other DGI holdings... now it is my one LT pure spec play -- much as your AAPL leaps and calls are for you? Keeps my head in the game and gives me a reason to tend to my "flock" as it were.
