G'evening.
I must agree with your last paragraph and submit the following analysis for further consideration.
IMCOW(the warrants) ceased trading on or about Dec.8th.,three days before the 5p.m.Dec.11th deadline for excercising.
I have observed a warrant price range of 1 3/8 to 2 9/16; the chart pattern for the warrants understandably mimmicks that of the host security(http://www.bigcharts.com Use the 'compare to' button for IMCOW and IMCO ).
The terms of the warrants: Exercise two(cost between 2 3/4 and 5 1/8, depending on when they were bought i.e.2x1 3/8= 2 3/4; 2x 2 9/16= 5 1/8 and shell out another $7.50 for the privelege of owning one share. This means that some now own shares which cost them (without commission costs) 7.50+ 2 3/4 = 10 1/4 and others 7.50 + 5 1/8 = 12 5/8.
'A sellout day'. Mebbe an acceptable explanation, imho, for a half point drop but 1 3/4 suggests either irrational selling( it's been happening a lot in the market lately, as if you needed to be reminded, right),or, I suggest, realisation that slowing revenues anounced the other day and now entry into the R&D field will cause a price rise slowdown and some investors want to switch trains. How about end of year selling? Caution advised before picking up more at todays price?
