You should check his track record first.

Mr. Asensio is generally reviled, particularly by Wall Street bottom-feeders who push garbage stocks on small investors, because he dares to expose scam companies for what they really are. He also profits from short-selling these companies. He is generally up-front about the fact that he takes short positions....unlike paid shills, who will hype a worthless stock and make every effort to hide the fact that they're being compensated by the company.

BTW, Asensio is not a pure short-seller. He manages a fund that holds both long and short positions. He is a value investor with an excellent track record. As far as his reports concerning scams like Solv-ex and Zoangen: I find his research to be very high quality. I'm sure he has saved quite a few people from losing large amounts of money.
