11/28/14 Contest update
As shoppers jammed malls on Black Friday, my hope was biotech investors would be equally eager to grab biotech stock bargains. Sadly, this was not the case. Nonetheless, despite a middling Black Friday, biotechs had a stellar week.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median closed up 12.59% YTD (vs. up 5.15% YTD a week ago), the larger-cap Nasdaq Biotech Index, closed up 34.19% YTD (vs. up 30.12% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index closed up 14.73% YTD (vs. up 12.84% YTD a week ago).
Shining especially brightly, DIEGO’s portfolio, now up 101.39% YTD, leapfrogged into the Contest lead. DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 98.61% YTD, slipped to second place, while WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 91.78% YTD, held on to third place.
At Friday's close, 31 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while 14 of the 46 beat the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (KARO.ST) is down -4.79% YTD.
