Nancy re>>My favorites in this category : MSFT, GE, TRV, PFE

I agree with the stocks that you have identified and own PFE already -- from several years ago. The others (and PFE) IMO are over-valued -- which in a stable/bullish market environment will do fine. But in a vulnerable environment can end up being decimated. I will not buy them at current prices or even on minor corrections -- other than as a trade. They are all quality stocks -- but when investing -- I have to buy value--because I look on it as literally buying a piece of the business and I know that I would not do that at current valuations. But we have had this discussion before re DELL -- and I certainly would own any of these before DELL based on current valuations. Also, remember cheap and cheaper:)

>>then there are some require attn : CSCO, CPQ, DELL, INTC,

I agree with that each one is worth owning at the right price -- and I view them as low maintenance -- in fact there is risk in trying to tend them because one might end up losing them in the process -- almost happened to me on INTC at 97, pre-split.

>>then there are stocks that should only be held thru one upcycle :
AMAT, NVLS, ALTR, BMCS, QCOM<<

I agree that these are high maintenance.

Re the hi-lo data, I ma interested in reviewing it -- is this something that can be posted or should this be done thru e-mail??

>>p.s. have you bought puts on AMAT today for your future long protection ?<<

Bought the puts -- now waiting to sell the calls --may be tomorrow
