Hi Tom,
How did you post that Facebook video?

Its a difficult at the moment. We added an experimental Facebook video tag, "fbv" used as follows:

[ fbv]<videoID>[ /fbv]

If you place the Facebook video ID between the tags here on SI, the video is shown here.

There are problems with the tag as implemented; it doesn't always show the preview image for the video, and Facebook videos can have odd dimensions; the aspect ratio isn't fixed like YouTube video.

But if you have the video ID, it nonetheless works.

One way to get this ID number of a Facebook video is while you are on Facebook, to highlight to video, and in FireFox you can select "View selection source".

If the selection source, you can do Ctrl-F for find and enter "v=" to find the video ID. It'll look like this:

_https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152806380316815

That number after the v= is what goes in the tags.

I realize this is a bit of a pain; certainly we could do this much better. For now, this is the only method we've yet implemented.

Regards,

@Dima
