Cecil :
I don't have the answers to your questions. However, I just wanted to mention that the latest issue of BYTE Magazine (Jan. '98) has an article titled "Remote Access Supports Analog/Digital Mix" (p. 26). It compares the Ariel Rascal RS1000 with products from 3Com, Livingston, and Ascend. THe Rascal is the only PC-based product. You get 24 modems for $11,500. The Livingston PortMaster3 gives you the most bang for your modem buck (48 ports/$17,300). BTW, Livingston recently announced it will merge with Lucent.
