Rob,
Take a look at Oracle's chart for the past four years. The stock doubles about every 2 years. If that holds, your long holding will be 4x of what it is now in 4 years. That is a great return by any standard.
In the short term I will actually hate to see Oracle's stock price being inflated by the hype (mystic) around NC. Oracle is well known as a technology blue chip that can weather a general hightech downturn. NC news right now only inflates the stock price and makes Oracle a less safer haven to turn to when other techs turn sour.
Right now NC is doing the same to Oracle what Java did to Sun. It is not adding to the bottom line, but it provids a lot of name recognition for Oracle, that in turn translates to more database and Application sells.
