Don, the 1997 market has been great for short term traders, both long and short, and has convinced almost everyone involved that they are an expert. In 1997, you could buy or short almost any stock and just hold the position until you had a profit, worked almost every time. That may end soon. I agree with you that big money is made by long term growth in a smart investment. While I short term trade from the short side, my long positions are measured in years. I build the position slowly over time based on fundamentals and the proving out of those fundamentals. I invest in people and projects, not hype.

We can all tell stories of these type investments in MSFT, INTC, and the like. The trick is to identify the next ones. For what it is worth, I believe BROC is one of those situations for the future and I have been building a long position for about one year now with regular purchases intended to be held for the long term.
