So, after the cop saw fit to confront these guys because they were blocking traffic, then finds out they are suspects in a robbery, Wilson beats the shit out of the cop and you think he's going to just "drive away"?

Now, that takes a fine cop, indeed. Hell, he should have just taken the day off if he isn't going to confront a robbery suspect.
