Because no matter what happened, no matter what the evidence is, that is going to be your finding.
Bullshit. If Wilson had an actual blown out orbital socket as the rumor had it, I certainly would have gone with his narrative. But he had some minor swelling on his face, not exactly what you would expect from someone who had taken two powerful blows to the face. Powerful enough to where he feared a third would kill him. It is consistent with his face being smacked against a door pillar. No abrasions were noted on Brown's knuckles or hand as one would expect from punching someone in the face without gloves.
Some of the eye witnesses have Wilson grabbing Brown by the shirt and pulling him towards the car. In that scenario, Brown could have had his hands on the door resisting. Wilson could have drawn his service weapon, firing as he raised it, and that would have matched the physical evidence too. May even be a better match.
Not saying that is what happened. Just pointing out that the same physical evidence matches some of the other eye witnesses accounts. It depends on who you choose. If you are predisposed to believe that black males have super-human strength, impervious to pain and prone to fly into unthinking rages, this scenario isn't plausible and Wilson's is.
It makes me suspicious that Wilson tried very hard to paint such a picture. By his testimony, you'd think Wilson was maybe 5 foot 5 and 100 pounds soaking wet. But he isn't. Brown having the face of a demon was a nice touch, too. The "bulking" up to run a hail of bullets is like something out of a comic book.
But let's back up. Why did Wilson back up and cut off the two? Why get confrontational when he simply could have called for backup and watched them? They weren't running. They were walking in the middle of the street. Once the confrontation happened, why did he get out of the vehicle? If he wanted to chase, he could have simply put it in gear and followed. That neighborhood doesn't have a bunch of trees and seems to be mostly apartment buildings. It wouldn't be hard to keep an eye on him until backup arrived. Wilson made a series of bad decisions that only escalated the situation. Lots of things Brown could have done differently, but he wasn't the trained professional.
Based on the evidence so far, it seems very likely that Wilson pulled up and ordered them to get on the sidewalk. When the two were less than polite and deferential, Wilson got pissed. As he drove off, he finally decided he had enough and decided to confront. We know that Wilson tended to be unnecessarily confrontational.

So that is certainly consistent with his behavior. |
