[Chat Mike: Re: Metcalf]

Hi Mike -

Yep, it's the same guy. Unfortunately, he was also the founder of 3Com, and the inventor of Ethernet, so you know he's a pretty sharp guy.

Through another source which I cannot divulge, I am aware of problems with interference between DMT and CAP flavors of ADSL. Despite what we would think, DMT (specifically, Amati DMT was being tested) was knocked out by CAP when they were tested in the same bundle.

This is a crosstalk problem, but it was in a Lab environment, however, not a trial.

Another problem which has been downplayed is that of house wiring. Not all house wiring is in, shall we say, "plug n play" condition for ADSL. There has been little press given to that angle.

However, bad house wiring is NOT "crosstalk".

I'm thinking that Mr. Metcalf has another agenda; I just don't know what it is.

Later,
Steve
