Thx, Elroy... in trying to figure out that chart you posted, I ended up at the St. Louis FED site and poked around there until I felt I had a better handle on things. And thx for the original post about the weighted average dollar value index -- got the whole discussion/question thing going in my mind and want to pursue it further.
