I got the 7.5kw because it will run the HVAC system if we even choose to do that. The Buckstove heats the house well with wood we cut and split right here.

Will be ordering the LP conversion kit asap.
We have a 350 gallon LP tank that we only use for the kitchen stove and the grill. That is a lot of generator fuel.

Also keep about 25 gallons of gas on hand at all times for farming equipment and zero turn mower. And we never let our cars get below 1/2 a tank. I have a pump that can recapture that fuel.
In a catastrophic emergency I won't need the mower. Much of the 3 acres of grass will become more garden space.

Next move is solar, and I still have to build an outhouse.
Projects like these move slower when your over 70.

I've been reading while waiting for daylight so I can finish assembling the generator.

Just looked at my calendar and realized I have a Dr appt at 0800. I have to go because I need a prescription refill.
1st thing I'm going to tell him is I have a pain in the ass.
