I agree. Obama is about what I expected, less scary than McCain. But that is about it.

How he is perceived as an anti-business Marxist, bent on destroying America as we know it would be shocking it it wasn't for how free many Americans feel that they can express their racism. Not that it is all race-driven, but the same mechanisms apply. If you expect a Democratic president to be anti-business, pro-Marxist, then you will filter everything through that lense.

I get the feeling if the Democrats were to nominate a Barry Goldwater clone, he would be painted with the same brush...

In other words, Hilary will get the same treatment.
