That's what the channel gives CPQ, HWP, IBM. Thousands of
technicians to Dell's few hunderd. Dell partners with DEC
for full coverage on servers. Dell does not want to use
the channel so they are building what they believe to be
the most value-add services available in a a-la-carte
fashion. Customers only pay for what they need.

Systems re-engineering and large scale integration
is some of the areas they wish not to participate.
Their belief is that it has a low ROI and, get this,
"does not significantly increase shareholder value".

I like companies that think first and foremost in terms
of their stock price.
