No, I totally get it and thanks for the explanation. I understand why folks like space exploration and sci-fi entertainment. It especially lends itself to the movie theater and TV experience. I remember when I saw the first Star Wars. I was blown away by the visuals and the entertaining story lines involving "people" but all in all I just can't get drawn into the big picture of outer space and all that. I think I'm missing that lobe of my brain, along with a few others.

I recently did something very out of character for me. I got up in front of 85 people in a packed bar and I told a story. Have you heard of "storytelling"? There's a very popular storytelling show on NPR radio called The Moth. Check it out - they have a website. I'd like to tell you more about the experience but I should probably find out if you know about storytelling and/or The Moth.

Anyhow, my story was about the day I went to see the Exorcist at a theater with five of my fellow 16 year old friends and the impact the movie had on me. Visually it was startling. The special effects were incredible. At the time it was to horror movies what Star Wars was to sci-fi. Now you're probably sorry you asked. ;)
