Hi Tony,

Re: Finally, Sun sees the light. Why doesn't freaking Wall Street?

Regarding tech stocks, seems to me that there are three general groups on WS.

The first (and largest, IMO) are the genuinely ignorant, slow, and technology challenged. These guys just can't put two and two together because they don't understand technology or the technology revolution in general. They still can't distinguish between commodity producers like Micron and industry leaders like Intel. They completely miss the significance and uniqueness of Intel. These people are truly pathetic. Unfortunately, people even more pathetic invest based on their comments. Therefore, their ignorant assesments can and do influence short term stock behavior.

The second (much smaller group, IMO) are those who know better but use their comments and influence to manipulate stocks for short term gains. They may very well "see the light" but they aren't going to say that until such time as they can maximize profits for their clients. You know the type....the ones that say sell when they are getting ready to load up and scream buy when they are looking to dump. Cyncial...yes.....reality....definitely. These guys cross over from pathetic to disgusting and unethical.

The third group (almost non-existant group) are the honest, knowledgable analysts who have vision and make honest assesments. These people "see the light" and aren't afraid to say so even if their views are in the vast minority. Seems to me that Jules Garfunkel would have been just such an analyst. Unfortunately, since these people are a very small minority and are generally longer term oriented, they have less influence in the short run.

It will take a while but eventually, most of WS will see the light with respect to Intel. By then, our profits should already be that much fatter.

A fustrating period, no doubt....but nothing that INTC investors haven't seen before. The more things change, the more they truly stay the same. Let's face it, some people will just never learn.

Good luck,

FF
