This is the weekly update of the SOXM and SOX indexes along with earnings data for the SOXM stocks and other parameters.

The big news this week is "cracking" the 700 level for the SOX index. The SOX first exceeded the 600 level the week of 6/6/14 and now the 700 level the week of 12/5/14. This is just 6 months it has taken to go from over 600 to now over 700. During this 6 month period, the index receded to 561.40 the week of 10/10/14. From 10/10 it has taken just 9 weeks for the index to reach 703.12(+25.2%).

The question is - where do we go from here for the last 3 1/2 weeks of this year? Many articles have pointed out the historically strong months of Nov and Dec for the stock market. In this case, the yearly "good times" started on 10/10 with the last 3 weeks of Oct going from 561.40 to 640.86(+14.2%). This type of uptrend continued through Nov and now through the first week of December. December has another 3 1/2 weeks to go when the New Year starts which historically means that "new money" needs to be "put to work" giving a push to the upside for the market. We seem to be in a "pricey" market at this point, but it may become more pricey before a pullback occurs. It would seem that now is a time to be more observant and careful of market direction as we enter new high ground.
