<<re: Can Andy Grove keep profits up in an era of cheap PC's?>>

Andy Grove said in the BW article the key to sustaining profits is to sell more high end workstations and servers while selling more to the low end. AMD and Cyrix do not even participate in the high end. Intel will sacrifice some profits to aggressively fend off AMD and Cyrix at the low end. Intel can afford to do this as long as they are expanding into the high end workstation and server market.

AMD can hurt Intel for awhile, but as long as Intel can control the highend AMD will continue to operate in the red. (JMO)
