He could have insisted his AG prosecute blacks who were in the wrong (like the "New Black Panthers" who were in clear violation of election laws) and not dump on the cops when they're in the right (like the officer was in the Henry Gates nonsense). It is inciting blacks to riot when the AG essentially moves against the outcome of a grand jury in Ferguson by promising "an investigation" when no such investigation is warranted.

The most important thing he could have done would have been to advocate personal responsibility by reducing, not massively expanding, the welfare state.

He simply doesn't understand how it all works. It is no different from his foreign policy; he doesn't get that human nature, animal nature, is to take the path of least resistance. If Putin thinks he has an ignoramus running the US, he is going to be more aggressive (Carter/Reagan proved that).

In short, he just doesn't understand people. He has acted, for six years, like the Affirmative Action president he is.
