I implied no such thing. They were pragmatic. It is more than an implication---it is documented history--that it was necessary for leaders to be pragmatic and couch their language and their beliefs with careful subtlety--if they were to make any social progress for either self, family, or their social goals. Even today there are thousands of fake Christians in public office who know that "coming out" would drive the nail into the coffin of their political ambitions--not because they had been in prison or driven impaired (or perhaps had a threesome)...but because there is so much Christian hate, bigotry, and concerted attacks against all non-Christians.
You and Brumar are perfect examples: You can scarcely spew a post without somehow making a derogatory , mocking, dishonest, bigoted, accusatory, indecent, or enraged attack on atheists, pagans, freethinkers, agnostics, Jews, Muslims--and fellow Christians of the wrong sect: Those disgusting enemies of God headed straight for HELL! Your ignorant chortling based on such idiotic bigotry is more than unpleasant. |
