GZ, You'd love "A Confederacy of Dunces" , wherein the protagonist is similarly dismayed by the various infernally terrifying modes of transportation. ie;, got thrown off a Greyhound bus after upchucking from the sheer terror of hurtling down the highway at breakneck speeds, and shreiking at the bus driver to "slow down immediately, or we shall all assuredly die a horrifying death!" OB (So hopelessly off topic I forgot which site I was signed on. This is the literary guild for the mentally myopic thread, yes?)
