The way I see it is that anyone is capable of killing another human being given the right circumstance. I've killed many human beings as a soldier so I got away with it. The only thing that has stopped me as a civilian is jail time/death penalty. I make no pretenses to being holy or pure in that regard. Do I have any regrets for my past actions as a soldier ? No. Would I do it again? No. I did what I did at the time I did it. I've changed since then. Rules are made to be broken for extreme/exceptional circumstances. I can forgive someone of murder given the situation. I don't have an all or nothing approach. Moreover, people are weak and passions often get the best of them. But a dude like Cheyney is in the perpetual mind state of torture and death so he is not worth tax payer dollars. He is incurable. He lost all his humanity a long time ago.
