My Mom use to work as an interviewer for the Census Bureau. She would often go into prisons and interview the inmates. The first thing she told me is that the guards were worse than the inmates. Second, she told me that most of these crimes were committed due to ghetto upbringing, the need for money because the families were so poor. Sure, they would hold up an outsider in their neighborhood (for the money) and once the person resisted they got killed. Do you know how many people in the USA get arrested everyday for stealing a loaf of bread in a supermarket because they are starving? I personally know a number of attorneys who got sick to their stomach defending these people and ended up becoming real estate attorneys instead.

Excuse me, but I can easily identify with all the black youth and hispanics who end up accidentally killing someone for their money because they are starving and living on the street without a home. Not that I think it's right, but being on the street like that is not right either and the law of nature or the jungle takes over.
