For security reasons I don't plan on ever storing any sensitive data on a server. For more sensitive systems my computer will not even have a hard drive. All computer operations would be carried out using removables.
To accomplish this my basic system will have two removable drives(ZIP if 100 mb is adequate), one for booting and some applications, etc, and the other for copying, data, and other applications. Two removable drives that are compatible with each other simplify several needs and to me is the logical configuration.

The removables are removed and safed when not used and another user of the system will have to supply their own boot and data disks.

Zip or Jaz seem to be the current logical drives for this type of corporate application
