This was the Bush administration's war of choice, based upon false ideas and intelligence delivered with deliberate deception. Putin himself will tell you that there is no greater political tool than working the public up to willingness to wage war, and before his approval ratings fell down to the 20s, Bush got them quite high through launching this campaign. It would be hard for any senator to have opposed Bush after the deception he perpetrated in swelling nationalistic fervor towards a march to war.

Your grandchildren will be paying the price for this... both economically for incredibly high price tag of this war of choice (and the economically irresponsible tax cuts concurrently given), and also in terms of the regional instability that will be a curse on all presidents who follow.

Bush was quite arguably, the worst president of our time, launching wars of choice based upon public deception, overseeing the worst financial disaster of our time (you are aware the republicans controlled both chambers during much of his second term), and in was on his watch the twin towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed by terrorists, the biggest intelligence failure of our time and the worst terrorist incident in United States history.
