The reason to refuse a bigger increase in the minimum wage now is because you know the existing one is economically destructive. Making it illegal to work is a bad idea. It's a criminal idea. If the unemployed come for you with machetes, it would be understandable. You had better keep the minimum wage at a low level or you will create enough unemployed people that they will gang up and oil the wheels of the tumbrils. The riots in Ferguson are purportedly about the police being unreasonably homicidal. But really they are because people dislike being part of a slave caste suffering bossy people like you making their lives illegal. The tax payers will be coming for you too.
