40 years of no warming to 1980. Warming started 10,000 years ago when the last glaciation ended. There wasn't much human CO2 then. Sea level rise shows the warming that happened back then. Over the last couple of thousand years warming of the ocean has almost stopped though there is still a bit going on.

It's confusing for the scientifically illiterate, but correlation is not causation. 0.7 degrees of warming since the end of the little ice age shows that the little ice age ended, not that human CO2 as the cause. Similarly, a reduction in human CO2 output was not the cause of the little ice age.
