I haven't heard that. What I have heard is CORRECTIONS of lies made by the Left claiming that EIT did NOT yield actionable intelligence. You're conflating the two.

Of course, if it didn't work, there would be no reason to do it. But there have been tons of opponents of EIT who used "besides, it doesn't work" as part of their argument against it -- when in fact we know that it did work. Those not opposed to the methods on other grounds are simply correcting the lies.

The justification for using EIT is that they were safe, legal and effective tools to get critical information from people who were not going to give up otherwise.
