This is an item I would never have thought to buy until I was pointed toward it by my Dermatologist. Unsurpassed wound dressing. Use it on any surface of your skin instead of a Band Aide. It's expensive, but you would not believe how quickly it makes any kind of skin problem disappear. They tell me you can cut it up for smaller areas. I have used it for "pimple" areas on my scalp and on a rough patch of skin on the back of my hand that would not heal.

A hydrocolloid dressing is a wafer type of dressing that contains gel-forming agents in an adhesive compound laminated onto a flexible, water-resistant outer layer. Some formulations contain an alginate to increase absorption capabilities. The wafers are self-adhering and available with or without an adhesive border and in various thicknesses and precut shapes for such body areas as the sacrum, elbows, and heels. Click here to see examples of hydrocolloid dressings.

I keep a supply of this size on hand. 20 patches for $22.80. $1.16 per patch. They retail for $60 a box, and my HMO, Kaiser, gets $35 for them. If you try them, you won't go back to Band Aides.
