It's horribly hard to get species extinction. I have a lengthy list for mass murder in genocidal carnage, but they keep coming back like a nightmare. Life would be much better with a mass extinction. Well, not in their lives, but mine and those of most people.
Mosquitoes, fleas, house mites, are top of my list. But don't forget H5N1, Sars, swine flu, plague, leprosy, mumps, measles, AIDS, bovine spongiform encephalopathy prions, malaria, ebola, common cold, impetigo, papilloma, herpes of all sorts. Then I'd like mass murder of human genes which cause nothing but trouble. Stomach cancer genes, cystic fibrosis and any number of other genetic marauders. Getting to the bigger stuff, crocodiles, great white sharks, bronze whalers, bull sharks and whatnot can be turned to cat food or fish and chips. If not extinguished, 90% reductions in many species would be good. I'm sick of bloody tuis for example, but if they stay out in the bush I don't mind too much. There are marauding imported praying manti I'd like eliminated so the nice New Zealand variety can proliferate again. It's a constant battle at New Zealand's border to keep out pestilent problems. All those threats should be exterminated, eliminated from the gene pool. Maybe some of them could stay in their home environment but maybe not.
Good riddance.
It's quite nice that there is no tyrannosaur or any of the smaller marauders.
