Royal Canadian Mint Sees Robust Silver Demand

The Royal Canadian Mint is the second organization in as many weeks to highlight strong demand for silver bullion coins. The mint said that it sold its inventory of 1 million Silver Bald Eagle coins, which was part of the mints’ Birds of Prey series.

The 99.99% pure one-ounce silver coin was the second in the Mint’s series and was launched in August. The first coin of the series featured the peregrine falcon sold out earlier in the year.

“While our flagship Silver Maple Leaf bullion product continues to elicit strong customer interest, the rapid sell-out of one million Bald Eagle silver bullion coins is compelling evidence of the popular appeal of our Canadian Birds of Prey silver bullion program, of which the final two coins will be launched in 2015,” said Marc Brûlé, interim president and chief executive officer of the Royal Canadian Mint.
