Hi Garry,
I noticed today that APM and the dd makers rose pretty much in
unison today. I believe that right now in tax loss season alot
of invesors are looking at most of the stocks in this scector as
interchangeble (rightly or wrongly). Once we get into 98 I think
some of the selling pressure will be off and alot of big institutional
money will flow in looking for bargains. While I would not advocate
putting substantial sums of money into APM I really believe that
there is such a storm of negativity surrounding this co. that any
upside surprise in earnings could cause some rapid upward price
movement in a relatively short period of time.
I certainly don't pretend to be an expert, but I have played with
the market since I was a teenager ( I am 42 now) and have witnessed
over and over again sectors and individual companies that today are
dogs and tomorrow are darlings. Today, investors and institutions
are so short term oriented that I believe they often fail to step
back, take a breath, and examine the whole picture.
Also, I feel that most stock analists are usually a day late and a
dollar short in their estimates and recommendations. They love
stocks when the momentum players have run them sky high and hate
them when they are down at bargain levels.
The point of all this, is that I think that for all but the most
short term oriented players it is way to early to count APM out
which is what most participants of this thread seem to have done.
Thanks for the advice on your other stock picks, I will check them
out.

Best Regards,
Sean
