An update on the recent output by Ariad: Gilman et al. have also had also recently published in Genes & Dev.(10/1/97) [http://www.genesdev.org/cgi/content/abstract/11/19/2482 ] and have written reviews/commentaries in PNAS (12/7/97) [http://www.pnas.org/cgi/content/full/94/25/13388#SEC0 ] and Nature (11/27/97, no abstract) [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/htbin-post/Entrez/query?uid=9389473&form=6&db=m&Dopt=b ]. Such broad exposure indicates Ariad's approach is currently reaching a level of serious scrutiny. Concurrent preface-commentaries in PNAS and Nature suggests the methodology has achieved a prominent status. I'll attempt to review these articles later, when conciousness returns. Peter
