You have not answered the question. And since the issue seems cloudy to you, let me shed some light there: facing wrong doers is not a justification to do whatever is in your power. The response should be in relation to threat and risk/reward assessment. Personally I am more worried about competition from other contractors in my business (some of whom are being unethical) than some bozo chanting death to America in a hell hole at the other end of the globe. In very concrete terms, the guy who is bribing the execs is stealing bread off my table while the moron on the streets protesting does absolutely nothing to me. Nonetheless, I would not even take legal action against some of these contractors, let alone try to shoot or imprison them.

Just because US is fighting some wrong doers with illusions of grandeur, it does not mean we should throw our principles and humanity out of the window because we want to fight them.

Now it's your turn to come clean and say what your boundaries are. What does it take for you to condone torture? Is there any principle for which you are willing to sacrifice your life or that your loved ones? Or are you saying that mere sustenance or survival is all that it takes to push you over the edge?
