I just spoke to my sister about that guy in Missoula who was convicted of murder in the shooting death of an exchange student who was robbing him. This guy was a basket case and should never have had a gun in the first place. He was too stupid and too unstable for that responsibility. Also, his defense attorney allowed his wife to get on the stand, which was not helpful to his case at all. This should be a wake-up call for everyone who carries or uses a gun for home protection. If you use a gun to defend yourself, make sure you're on firm ground. You can't bait perps even if they deserve it. Even if they do deserve it and you are justified, your life will be forever different, and you won't enjoy the aftermath. Also, even justified shootings are likely to cost big bucks.
